Enbridge Gas and the Canada’s Greener Homes Grant have partnered to provide rebates towards eligible home improvements. The new, combined Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program will help more Ontarians save energy at home.

To be eligible for the Canada Greener Homes Grant, you must be a homeowner and prove you live in the home full-time. The home must be older than six months, based on date of occupancy by first homeowner. Only one homeowner per home can register. The following groups are also eligible under the initiative:

The first step is to determine which upgrades are right for you. Get pre-approved by one of Empower professional technicians free of charge.
The participant form signed in the home during the pre-assessment will outline the eligible incentive available to the homeowner. If you intend to start renovations, demolition of your home or install retrofit measures, please ensure that you have your initial home energy assessment completed. An energy assessment cannot be performed on a home during renovations or demolition or after new equipment has already been installed.
A thing to note: You must pay for all the materials and contractors upfront. You will also need to pay for home evaluations conducted by Authorized Energy Advisor – one before the renovations begin and one after. Once the improvements are certified by the advisor, you will receive your rebate cheque in mail within approximately 6 months.
